Something to look forward too…

…when i go into work. How to build a cross bow out of office supplies. The site is in russian, (what’s up wiht me and the russians lately) but this totally looks doable.

For the longest time i had a grand vision of building a crossbow with nothing but retail display pieces, but then i got a real job, and let it slip my mind. Perhaps its time to rekindle the plans.

This guy presents a very interesting argument against the continuation of manned space flight under the current system. I certainly know a few school systems that could use the 1bn we spend on each launch.

It is sad to see the once awe-inspiring program reduced to pulling publicity stunts for elementry school kids. Or maybe its always been that way and i was more impressed in elementry school. (via kottke)

Open Source Newspaper

The best newspaper in Basra. How to do an open source newsppaer in Iraq. Authors simply hand-write articles on paper and tack them up on the board to make what’s referd to in Basra as ‘The best newpaper in town.’

Makes this whole internet thing feel a little overblown.
