Fishies

Adobe apparently sponosrs a design competition each year for folks using their products. This one was extremely snazy, and made me feel a bit ashamed of my own poorly wrought fishes.

More Shuttle

After linking to an article off of Kottke that had a pretty harsh take on the current manned space program. My Dad sent me this cool shot of discovery on approach to the ISS that supposedly was circulating inside nasa. Despite all its failings and ethical questions the shuttle is still incredibly impressive.

Something to look forward too…

…when i go into work. How to build a cross bow out of office supplies. The site is in russian, (what’s up wiht me and the russians lately) but this totally looks doable.

For the longest time i had a grand vision of building a crossbow with nothing but retail display pieces, but then i got a real job, and let it slip my mind. Perhaps its time to rekindle the plans.

“You know you’re in trouble when the Russians are adding safety features to your design…”

This guy presents a very interesting argument against the continuation of manned space flight under the current system. I certainly know a few school systems that could use the 1bn we spend on each launch.

It is sad to see the once awe-inspiring program reduced to pulling publicity stunts for elementry school kids. Or maybe its always been that way and i was more impressed in elementry school. (via kottke)
