Web Design

To quote the mighty wikipedia:

Web design encompasses many different skills and disciplines in the production and maintenance of websites. The different areas of web design include web graphic design; interface design; authoring, including standardized code and proprietary software; user experience design; and search engine optimization. Often many individuals will work in teams covering different aspects of the design process, although some designers will cover them all.

So in the short-view, it’s another design project, no big deal. But when you ponder the web, the magnificent bastard of a tech hippy’s one night stand with the military industrial complex, it’s almost like a living breathing thing. It’s a business card that you can magically change after you’ve handed it out, a flyer that morphs to your newest, hottest hotness, visible to anyone, everyone or no one. It used to be it was just on your desk, but now it’s in your pocket, in your car and on your refrigerator. It’s a democratized press of thoughts and apps that I think can change lives and will change the world.

Getting to be a publisher, a tinkerer in the guts of the thing – that’s not a  job, that’s a privilege.
