Left or Right?

Or Smart (literally) vs stupid? Good vs evil? Responsible vs. Republican?

The real ironic part is that the guy who owns Smart car is a pretty big dude (my height plus a good 40 pounds), and the driver of the hummer is this itty-bitty blond lady.

The one on the right is safer though, right? Think again.

The Babe Rally

The Big-Apple to Big-Easy Rally is technically defined as an ‘American Banger Rally’. The goal– to take a car who’s total cost/value is no more than $250 and drive it from New York to New Orleans over Memorial Day weekend.

The vehicle must cost less than $250. If you did not purchase the car you must provide a signed witness statement from someone stating that they feel $250 is on the expensive side as a valuation for your car. An accompanying photo of them laughing themselves senseless upon first site of the car is a plus.

Never Trust the British

We tried out Chucos Tacos downtown this weekend. We were standing ta the counter, placing our order and i became entangled in the age-old questions that has puzzled great thinkers since the time of the Greeks: A burrito or two tacos ? I figured what the hell, I’m leaning towards tacos, but we’ll ask the girl at the counter, which she prefers here.

“Oh, i like the tacos because they’re easier to eat,” she responds in her prissy little, very British, i can’t-believe-have to-talk-to-you-savages, much less work in this mongrel country, voice. “I’m English, we weren’t taught to eat with our hands, so I use a knife and fork.”

And you’re working at a Mexican food restaurant ?

Clearly you are out of your element. Needless to say I got the burrito. For me though, it’s really brought home the point that we need to solve this immigration problem fast–we can’t have the British coming in here and corrupting something as fundamentally American as mexican food with their horrible knives and forks. Call your congressman.

It's Like a Big Lego

From the ‘always-wondered-how-that-works’ department, pictures from NASA’s Vertical Assembly building as the space shuttle is assembled for launch. Looking at the infrastructure involved, you can start to see why each launch costs $60 million. I’m not sure what’s scarier–seeing the massive orbiter hanging by a single crane line (that would be an impressive mess if it broke), or noticing that NASA let the Italians build something for the Space Station–you guys ever driven a Fiat? Yikes.

70's Music

I had a freakishly realistic dream last night that David Crosby of Crosby, Stills & Nash (Neil Young sucks, it was better when he left), was sitting in my bedroom, having a beer.

I’ve taken it as a sign to listen to more music from the early 70’s.  No Neil Young though. Annoying voice and a silly hat–no thank you.
